This was going to be a blog post about blogs that I love, like and or follow but I added in some Youtube channels and twitter accounts etc, so now its just Cool Stuff. Inspired by one of my friends that did a similar thing recently, I thought I would steal her idea and do one of my own. Prepare for a voyage through my Internet world, and discover the stuff that inspires and interests me.
As I have already hinted at, I stole this blog post idea from her, first up is my friend Kuraberry. If you read my first ever blog post you will know that this blog was one of the things that inspired to do it myself. Kuraberry AKA Adriana is an extremely talented artist and blogger. Her blog, like mine covers a range of topics that interest her from Food, Travel, lifestyle to her Art. Whatever she writes about her posts are well constructed, and always interesting. Kuraberry has a wealth of knowledge and passion for nutrition, healthy eating, art, animation and pretty much anything she posts on. I would highly recommend that you check her blog https://kuraberry.wordpress.com and Twitter and get inspired by her Instagram.
OK Gamer Girl
Ok Gamer Girl, AKA Philly is a Youtube channel. Philly has a love for all things video game, and owns a least one of every console since the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). She loves to break out the consoles and play the games, as the were intended on the hardware they were made for. Recently she has taken this love of retro games and created a Youtube channel where she plays classics new and old. Her style is awesome and friendly and makes you feel like your in the room with her, just hanging out with a mate watching them play. She takes a relaxed and humours approach to playing and often has you laughing along with her as she dies again. The videos are good and well put together with a professional shine to the editing. Highly recommend you check out and subscribe to her channel OkGamerGirl.
Random wire, Aka David is a technologist living and working in Tokyo japan. His blog covers life in Asia, design, culture, technology and travel. I come across his blog recently while researching Japanese web design which was the subject of one of his posts. I was instantly hooked, having a keen interest in all things Japanese and Technology. His posts are well thought out, researched and written and are a joy to read. I find his insights into the culture of Japan extremely interesting and informative. I reckon when I first came across his blog I must have spend a good two hours just reading the posts. I am even more excited and keen to see the land of the rising sun for myself now. I would highly recommend that you check out his blog https://randomwire.com/ and as you would expect from someone who blogs about tech you can find him on Twitter
A Geek In Japan
A Geek in Japan, AKA HÉCTOR , is a engineer who found he has a passion for writing, and is currently living in Japan. I found A Geek In Japan when I was browsing books on Japan on Amazon, he had written a very cool book by the same name. His insight in to Japan are both fascinating and exciting. He has similar interests to me so I really enjoyed reading about his view on all things Japanese. As you would expect from someone who is a published author his posts are will written and entertaining. When reading them it kind of feels like sitting down with a mate to have a discussion on stuff you love. The only thing I did find a little frustrating about his blog is that it is hard to browse by post category. In contrast because the posts are so engaging it is easy to just sit down and read them one after another. I would recommend you check out his blog http://www.ageekinjapan.com and Twitter. If you have an interest in Japan I would recommend that you grab a copy of his book from Amazon, and he is in the process of writing a follow up.
The next blog I am going to chat about is different to the others in that it is a Professional blog (by which I mean people are paid to write for it). Codeship is a company that built a CI server (a tool to help with software development), with some truly cool features. Their company blog isn’t your typical filled with sales bullshit company blog that many companies go for. Codeship’s blog covers all aspects of the development world. As someone who is passionate about development and code in general I am also fascinated to read their posts from some of the experts in their field. This blog is ultra hardcode and will probably only appeal to my fellow developers reading this. It is regularly updated, sometimes daily with a range of topics. As is to be expected some of the posts are sales based covering the codeship platform, the vast amount however are general programming and development post. I always come away from reading the posts, enlighten on the topic been discussed. Reading this blog has often given me insight into my own work, how to improve what I am doing and avoid potential pitfalls. You can check out there blog here https://blog.codeship.com
This is just some of the cool blog that really stand out for me. I may revisit this in the future as I discover and enjoy other aspects of the blogging world. Do you have any blogs that you are passionate about? I would be interested in reading them. I am especially interested in finding a blog on Anime that I can get really stuck into. Any recommendation you have, please enter in the comments.
